Remedial Therapy

Effective soft tissue release requires an assessment. A functional body can move in and out of any posture. Therefore, “Bad posture” is an erroneous term. The musculoskeletal system often experiences muscle imbalances, tissue tension, and fascial adhesion due to injury, trauma, stress, lack of movement, or too much repetition of a movement pattern.

Remedial therapy uses soft tissue techniques (trigger point, myofascial release, muscle energy technique and others), and light joint mobilasation to release tight muscles, break fascial adhesion and relieve pain. It also promotes relaxation of the nervous system. Specific exercises are often necessary, as weak muscles are prone to experience excessive tightness.

Meal Planning For Health

Achieving a balanced diet is meant to be a simple task. Eat a variety of vegetables and fruit daily, and avoid too much sugar, confectionary items, and saturated fats. However, this topic has become complex, and an immense amount of information floods social media. The occurrence is partly due to the wide range of variables involved within this subject, and differences in human biotypes. Nonetheless, be aware of fad diets.

Modern life leads us here, hence the term “obesogenic environment”. Our busy lifestyles make us lean towards convenience, but you can still choose a healthier path.

Meal planning is for anyone needing assistance meeting their health goals. It involves an individualised assessment of your current diet, a personalised plan, and tips to incorporate into your daily routine.

Autism – Personalised Kids Meal

Target for children with eating disorders related to autism. This is a hands-on service comprised of the elaboration of an individualised meal plan, food preparation, and delivery. After a case-by-case assessment, a chef will create a specific menu for your child. The meals are developed based on the Sequential Oral Sensory Approach to Feeding and taking into consideration a nutrient-rich diet. However, this service does not replace the need to see a dietician to discuss your child’s needs. It’s simply the delivery of a specific food menu that suits your child.

Dry Cupping

Cupping is an ancient form of therapy. Since 1950 it has been used as a formal modality in hospitals throughout China and other traditional Asian medicinal systems. There are different types of cupping therapy and methods. Dry cupping does not involve the drawing of blood (called wet cupping). Some methods of cupping may use fire to create suction. However, a modern method of application uses a handheld pump to extract the air between the cup and the skin to induce a suction effect. Dry cupping is a non-invasive form of therapy and the cup can be left stationary or glided through the skin. It depends on the purpose of the treatment.

The cupping suction creates a negative pressure, causing a stretching on the skin and underlying tissue. This results in increased local blood flow and enhanced tissue healing (mechanical effects of cupping). Other potential benefits are currently being studied and involve physiological changes to the tissue after cupping application, such as the activation of cellular reactions that may reduce inflammation and encourage tissue healing.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage

As blood pumps through the body, some fluid escapes the thin walls of blood vessels. One of the principal functions of the lymphatic system is to gather this fluid and return it to the blood system to maintain overall fluid balance. If fluid is not returned to the blood system at the same rate as it leaves, oedema can develop.

Manual lymphatic Drainage was developed by Dr. Emil Vodder in 1932, and is designed to speed up lymph fluid flow. The method combine gentle pressure and soft pumping movements with the aim to stimulate the lymph nodes and capillaries below the skin. Therefore, is a very light and relaxing treatment that can help detoxify a sluggish lymphatic system due to inactivity, illness or inappropriate nutrition

Exercise Assessment

This service is for someone who desires to exercise for the first time or wants to become physically active again but is unsure how to start or fears getting injured. Or for someone wanting a postural assessment.

An individualised evaluation considering health history and personal background (such as past injuries, posture, work occupation, and body changes related to weight/age) is performed, and exercises and advice are prescribed targeting your needs with the aim of making you confident to exercise again or simply help you address any muscle or postural imbalance.

If you have recent injury and currently need rehabilitation, this service is not for you. Please see you GP and physiotherapist.
